about_us

In 2004, The Gulf Coast Education Empowerment Institute, Inc. was established in Pensacola, Florida. The purpose for establishing this non-profit corporation was to assist students, parents, and the community with issues surrounding the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) through education, economic, social, and emotional empowerment.

Many students living in middle to low-income neighborhoods were confronted with school closings, neighborhood bussing to schools outside of their neighborhood, low academic achievement, increased middle school and high school drop-out rate among African American students, stigmatization, and labeling as a result of their economic status. In 2014, the Gulf Coast Education Empowerment Institute, Inc. became certified to operate in Georgia, dba English Bates Group Institute to serve the same purpose.
